Vineyard Leadership Training Hub: London
If you are a follower of Jesus, God is calling you to leadership - to influence and impact whatever environment you find yourself in for Christ. Whether it's your workplace or where you live, as a student or as a church planter you are called to lead, to influence and to impact people for Jesus.
In April 2012 we launched the Vineyard Leadership Training Hub: London - a two-year rolling programme looking at all aspects of leadership development and church planting. After 3 wonderful taster sessions in April, May and June, we began our full programme, including theological study, in September.
How Does Hub Work?
The London Hub consists of 4 key components:
1. Hub Training Events
Through 2 monthly evening meetings and 1 half day per term, a wide range of subjects will be covered which will help equip students both to develop their leadership potential in the local church and to be equipped for church planting. Each term will have an overall theme with specific topics addressed by experienced key leaders from within the Vineyard Movement. There will be additional recommended reading resources and other materials for those students wishing to explore topics in more depth.
2. Practical service in local churches
A key aspect of the London Hub is the requirement for students to find relevant ways to develop their leadership potential through practical service through the local church. Each term we will be encouraging students, in association with their Senior Leaders and Leadership Staff Teams, to work on relevant elements of the London Hub Ministry Goals.
3. Theological study
Hub students will be given the opportunity to take part in the Vineyard 2-4 year theological foundation programme using content from VLI and VBI. This content, provided by VCUKI, will include lectures, seminars and termly assessments and will provide a strong theological foundation for ministry equipping students to handle and teach Scripture biblically and responsibly.
4. Church Planting Preparation
Preparation for church planting is a key aspect of the London Hub and students who feel called to plant will work closely with the London church planting co-ordinator as well as receiving ongoing personal mentoring and coaching as they prepare to plant.
Levels of Commitment
In recognition of the fact that we all have different amounts of time to give to the London Hub we have developed 3 options of commitment:
Level 1: Called to lead in the local church
This is for those who, at this stage, feel called to develop their leadership giftings in the local church and are looking for a structured approach to training that will help them grow as leaders.
Level 2: Called to further theological study
This is for those who, in addition to the above, feel that now is the time to further develop their theological training to equip them to lead others more effectively.
Level 3: Called to church planting
This is for those who, in addition to the above, feel that they may be called to church planting at some point over the next 2-4 years. This may be as lead pastors or as part of a church planting team.
